David Kaplan is a managing director and founding partner of the ODG Group. Mr. Kaplan also is a managing director and founding partner of Airside Analytics LLC, Airside Venture LLCs, and Airside Holdings LLC. Mr. Kaplan specializes in air cargo facility quantitative analytics, process design, capacity/demand modeling, project finance, investment structures, contract law, public law, entitlements, and development. Prior to working with ODG and Airside, Mr. Kaplan was a group partner and the chief investment officer of Airis Holdings LLC and Nordic Airport Properties AB. Mr. Kaplan previously served as a managing director of project finance and investment banker with Prudential Securities Inc. and the head of project finance and partner with the law firm of Adorno and Zeder, LLC. Mr. Kaplan holds an MBA (Finance) valedictorian and summa cum laude from New York University, a JD (tax and securities) from the University of Florida, a BA/MA summa cum laude from Emory University. Mr. Kaplan has over 25 years of experience in the air cargo industry. Mr. Kaplan has designed, financed, and/or developed air cargo facilities worldwide with an aggregate value in excess of US$2 billion.
Oliver Schaaf is a managing director and founding partner of the ODG Group. Mr. Schaaf also is a managing director and founding partner of Realog International Holding GmbH, Realog Consulting GmbH, and Realog Systems GmbH. Mr. Schaaf specializes in air freight supply chain management, air cargo analytics, on-airport cargo and logistics facility developments, processes, operations, design, tender management, installation, and site supervision with a particular expertise in automation and material handling systems. Mr. Schaaf has many years of experience in project management of large cargo terminal developments. Prior to working with ODG and Realog, Mr. Schaaf was a senior vice president in aviation and supply chain management with D.Logistics and a senior project manager in air cargo finance and development at Lufthansa Cargo AG. Mr. Schaaf holds an MBA (Logistics) from the University of Mannheim. Mr. Schaaf has over 25 years of experience in the air cargo industry. Mr. Schaaf holds several patents in air cargo design and automation. Mr. Schaaf has designed air cargo facilities worldwide with an aggregate value in excess of US$3 billion.
Dr. Andreas Hermann is the director of material handling systems engineering at ODG International GmbH and Realog Consulting GmbH. Dr. Hermann specializes in on-airport cargo facility systems material handling design and engineering with a particular expertise in mechanical design and systems. Prior to working with ODG and Realog, Dr. Hermann was a manager in the planning department for air cargo and baggage material handling systems at IFF Engineering GmbH. Dr. Hermann holds a PhD (Mechanics Engineering) from Technical University Leipzig. Dr. Hermann has over 25 years of experience in the air cargo industry. Dr. Hermann is a recognized innovator in material handing mechanical engineering tailored solutions. Dr. Hermann has designed air cargo facilities mechanical systems worldwide with an aggregate value in excess of US$3 billion.
Makram Karim is the director of architecture at ODG International GmbH and Realog Consulting GmbH. Mr. Karim also is a managing director and founding partner of Realog Consulting Inc. Mr. Karim specializes in on-airport cargo facility architecture design, tender management, installation, and site supervision with a particular expertise in material handling systems building interfaces. Prior to working with ODG and Realog, Mr. Karim was an architect and project manager with Dar Al Handasah Consultants and an architect and construction control manager with Ed Zublin AG Contracting. Mr. Karim holds BSc in Architectural Engineering and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC), and Project Management Institute (PMI).
